Perica
A centerpiece inspired by the pomegranate

Perica’s story begins with a symbol: the pomegranate, a central element of Granata’s visual identity.
When the brand asked us to develop a centerpiece bowl inspired by its emblem, we chose not to simply reproduce the pomegranate, but to understand its essence: its internal structure, its symbolic richness, and its expressive potential.
We developed a parametric texture on Perica’s base, inspired by the intricate pattern of the pomegranate arils. A design detail that is not merely decorative, but becomes an integral part of the product’s narrative: a living, rhythmic surface, capable of interacting with light.
The name Perica comes from the Italian word “pericarpo”, the botanical term for the outer skin of the pomegranate. This subtle reference connects the product even more deeply to the fruit that inspired it, transforming a natural element into a design language.
Refined through 3D printing and iterative prototyping, Perica is designed as a modular and customizable system.

With its accessories including a napkin holder and a candle holder it can be used as a tray, vase, centerpiece bowl, or decorative element, freely adapting to the space and identity of those who choose it.
As part of the design process, we also worked carefully on colors and finishes, defining a material language capable of enhancing Perica’s transparency, lightness, and interaction with different interiors.
In close collaboration with the manufacturing company, we refined the product to make it feasible for production, aligning design intent, material choices, and technical requirements.
Our work also extended to the overall product experience: from the creation of images for online commercialization to the design of its packaging, ensuring that Perica could be presented, communicated, and delivered with the same coherence that guided its development.
